Badenoch urges City to boost UK growth for defence spending.
More economic activity could support higher spending in areas including defence, according to proposals due to be set out this week. Kemi Badenoch is expected to tell finance leaders on Thursday that London’s financial sector should play a bigger part in raising growth and that regulators have faced outside pressure. She will speak at a TheCityUK gathering and point to weaker share markets, fewer company listings and slow productivity gains.
