Australia passes law to make tech giants pay for news

Australia's new law will force tech giants to pay millions in levies if they don't make commercial deals with local news outlets. The News Bargaining Incentive taxes companies 2.5% on advertising revenue unless they reach agreements. The law applies to Meta, Google, TikTok, and LinkedIn with significant services and over A$250 million in local ad revenue.
