Australia Called to Light Candles in Solidarity After Bondi Beach Attack

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has called on all Australians to place candles in their windows at 6:47pm in solidarity with the Jewish community following a shooting attack at Bondi Beach during Hanukkah celebrations. The attack, carried out by two men of Pakistani origin, targeted Jewish families lighting ceremonial candles on the beach. Melbourne landmarks including Flinders Street Station and Parliament House will illuminate in white tonight, while communities across the nation respond to calls for unity against violence and antisemitism.
