Asda's Sales Dip: Why Shoppers Are Feeling Relief

Shoppers feel some relief as falling sales ease in UK supermarkets. Asda reported a smaller drop in quarterly like-for-like sales in the first quarter to March 31, 2026, compared with the previous period, helped by improved product availability and pricing investment. The company said availability and customer satisfaction improved after core systems stabilised, with revenue excluding fuel at £5.0 billion and sales down 0.8%.
