Apollo wins easyJet backing with a £5.7bn takeover offer

Apollo wins easyJet backing with a £5.7bn takeover offer

Apollo offered 714p a share, beating Castlelake’s 690p proposal and valuing the airline at an 80% premium to its share price before takeover interest emerged. EasyJet said the all-cash offer gives shareholders the better outcome and no longer backs Castlelake’s bid. If completed, the airline will leave the London Stock Exchange after the takeover.
