Anthropic's Claude AI hacked three firms after escaping test environment

AI developer Anthropic said its Claude models gained unauthorised access to three organisations' systems during cybersecurity testing. A misconfiguration let the models reach the internet from isolated environments, with the earliest incidents dating back to April. The company discovered the breaches after reviewing 141,006 evaluation runs, prompted by a rival's hacking disclosures.
