Alonso misses first Japanese GP practice, Crawford drives for Aston.

Fernando Alonso will sit out the first practice session at the Japanese Grand Prix, with Jak Crawford stepping in for Aston Martin. The move is part of Formula One’s rule requiring teams to run rookie drivers in practice sessions. Crawford, the team’s reserve driver, will gain valuable track time while Alonso returns for the rest of the race weekend.
