Airlines warn passengers about lithium-ion battery fire risks
Airlines are increasingly warning about lithium-ion batteries, which are a top risk for the industry with incidents happening about twice a week globally. These batteries can get extremely hot very quickly, reaching over 700 to 1000 degrees Celsius. Passengers are told to keep devices in the cabin, not in overhead compartments or checked luggage, and to avoid using unsuitable cables.
