AI Designs Vaccine That Could Shield Against Entire Virus Families
A new vaccine, with its key component designed entirely by artificial intelligence, could protect against many viruses and prevent future pandemics. University of Cambridge researchers built it to target all coronaviruses, including animal strains that could jump to humans. It has now been trialled safely in 39 people. This is the first time an AI-designed vaccine component has been tested in humans.
