Twelve arrested after A66 crash killed seven people

A Volkswagen Passat, traveling against traffic on the A66, collided with a police vehicle during a Saturday morning accident close to Middlesbrough. The collision resulted in the deaths of both officers and all five people inside the Passat. Authorities in Teesside apprehended a dozen individuals—nine males and three females, ranging from 19 to 61 years old—on various charges, including suspected involvement with an organized crime group.
