Nvidia held talks to purchase AI startup Hugging Face for $12.9 billion

Nvidia has been in serious talks to acquire AI startup Hugging Face for about $12.9 billion, according to reports on Wednesday. The potential deal would combine Nvidia's AI chip business with Hugging Face's open-source model platform. Nvidia previously invested in Hugging Face in 2023 when the startup was valued at $4.5 billion.
