67% of Britons want higher taxes on tech giants. Here's why.
People could see more money raised from large technology firms if public opinion is reflected in policy. Polling released on Monday by the Fair Tax Foundation found 67% of respondents backed higher UK digital services taxes on multinational technology groups. Britain's digital services tax began in 2020 and is a 2% levy raising about £800m in 2024-25 from few firms.
