52 families meet minister over Vincent Chan nursery abuse failings
Families of children abused by nursery worker Vincent Chan met Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson on 3 March 2026 to demand safeguarding reforms. Chan, 45, was jailed for 18 years in February after pleading guilty to 56 offences, including sexually assaulting girls aged three and four at Bright Horizons nursery in West Hampstead while they slept. Police found more than 26,000 indecent images of children on his devices. Fifty-two families represented by law firm Leigh Day are taking legal action against Bright Horizons, arguing safeguarding failures created what they called a perfect hunting ground for a predator.
