£380m support kept Jaguar Land Rover UK production

Thousands of UK car jobs could have been at risk without public funding. Officials warned in December that Jaguar Land Rover might shift vehicle production abroad if a £380m subsidy for a Tata battery plant was not granted. Documents said the factory, costing £5.2bn, could have been built in Spain instead, affecting 33,000 UK workers.
