20 million homes get £100 towards energy bills this winter

Chancellor John Healey's £100 household energy payment is available to homes with a council tax band between A and D, at a cost of £2.6 billion. It will land directly in bank accounts, and he's also extending the VAT cut on electricity to July, which takes £50 off the annual price cap.
