Why might my bills go up?

While power cuts themselves don't directly raise your bill, the underlying reasons for grid instability can. If energy generation is expensive or scarce, wholesale prices rise. These costs are eventually passed on to consumers through their electricity bills, even if you don't personally experience a blackout.
