Explained in plain English

Why is US gas so costly?

US liquefied natural gas (LNG) is more expensive for the UK due to the significant costs involved in its production and transport. Gas must be super-cooled into a liquid for shipping across the Atlantic, then regasified upon arrival. These processes, plus shipping, add substantial expense compared to pipeline gas.
