Explained in plain English

Why do managers deny transfers?

Managers often deny transfer rumours to protect their players from distraction, maintain squad morale, and avoid unsettling the team. It also sends a clear message to other clubs that a player isn't for sale, strengthening their negotiating position if genuine interest does arise. Matthias Jaissle's firm 'No chance!' shows this in action.
