Why are these zones being introduced?

These zones are being introduced to give victims more freedom and prevent unwanted contact from serious sexual and violent offenders. By confining offenders to small areas and monitoring them with GPS, the scheme aims to quickly identify and return to prison anyone who breaches their boundaries, thereby enhancing public safety and reducing reoffending risks.
