Why are the elderly vulnerable?

Elderly people are particularly at risk during heatwaves because their bodies struggle more to regulate temperature. They might also have underlying health conditions or live alone, making it harder to get help. This is why Seoul authorities are specifically sending nurses to check on elderly and vulnerable residents during the current heatwave.
