When do the military help?

The military often assist civilian authorities in emergencies, like the Welsh wildfires. This is called Military Aid to the Civil Authorities (MACA). It's usually a last resort when local resources are overwhelmed, providing specialist skills or equipment that civilian services lack, such as helicopters for aerial support or logistical planning.
