Explained in plain English
What's a TPU?
The Pixel 10's TPU, or Tensor Processing Unit, is a specialised computer chip designed by Google specifically for AI tasks. Unlike general-purpose CPUs, TPUs are highly efficient at the mathematical operations needed for machine learning models like Gemma. This dedicated hardware allows the phone to run complex AI features offline, making them much quicker and more power-efficient.
