What makes a typhoon?

Typhoons are powerful tropical storms that form over warm ocean waters, similar to hurricanes in other parts of the world. They bring extremely high winds, heavy rainfall, and can cause significant damage, as seen with Typhoon Dolphin cutting power and disrupting flights in Japan. Their immense energy comes from the heat released when water vapour condenses into rain.
