What is 'adaptive reuse'?

Adaptive reuse is the process of repurposing an existing building for a new use, rather than demolishing it and building from scratch. In this story, 90% of the 1991 framework of PwC's old office will be kept. This approach is more sustainable, reducing waste and preserving the embodied carbon already in the structure, while giving the building a new lease of life.
