What is a penalty?
A penalty kick is awarded when a foul occurs inside the penalty area, a designated box near the goal. It's a direct shot at goal from 12 yards out, with only the goalkeeper to beat. Bruno Fernandes scored one of his goals from a penalty, which are often crucial moments in tight matches.
