What is a 'number one' keeper?
In football, the 'number one' keeper is the first-choice goalkeeper for a team, expected to start most matches. Emiliano Martínez is set to become Chelsea's number one, displacing Robert Sánchez. This role signifies trust from the manager and is crucial for team stability, as the goalkeeper is often the last line of defence.
