What is a dropped kerb?

A dropped kerb is a section of pavement lowered to road level, making it easier for pedestrians, wheelchair users, and vehicles to cross. They are often found at driveways, junctions, and pedestrian crossings. Parking across one, even partially, blocks access and is now widely enforceable with a fine, as highlighted by the new rules in the story.
