What is a driver demotion?
In motorsport, a 'demotion' usually means a driver is moved from a senior team to a junior team, or to a less prominent role. For Liam Lawson, being demoted to Racing Bulls at the start of the 2025 season meant moving from Red Bull's main F1 team to their sister team, often seen as a step down, but still within the Red Bull family.
