What does the National Guard do?
The National Guard is a reserve military force in the US, made up of citizen-soldiers. In situations like the Reno wildfire, they can be called upon by state governors to assist with various tasks. This often includes helping with evacuations, providing security in evacuated areas, distributing aid, and supporting emergency services, as seen in Nevada.
