What does a premier do?
In China, the premier is the head of government, leading the State Council. It's a bit like being a prime minister in other countries. Zhu Rongji served as premier from 1998 to 2003, overseeing the day-to-day running of the government and implementing major economic policies. His role was crucial in steering China's economic direction during a period of rapid change.
