What causes ship fires?

Fires on vessels, such as the MV June Aster, can stem from various sources, including engine malfunctions, electrical faults, or even improper storage of flammable materials. The confined spaces and presence of fuel on ships mean that once a fire starts, it can spread rapidly, making containment and evacuation extremely challenging, especially at sea.
