What causes motion sickness?

Motion sickness, or kinetosis, is a common issue when travelling. It occurs when your brain receives conflicting signals from your senses. For example, your inner ear senses movement, but your eyes might see a stationary object like a book or phone. This sensory confusion can lead to symptoms like nausea, dizziness, and vomiting.
