Wikipedia is part of a family of projects run by the Wikimedia Foundation. These include Wiktionary, a free dictionary; Wikibooks, for open-content textbooks; and Wikimedia Commons, a media repository for images and other files. These sister projects also rely on similar underlying systems, which is why some were pulled offline when the PHP flaws were found.
