Is this a new idea?

While Google's Motion Assist is new to Android, the underlying idea of using visual cues to combat motion sickness isn't. Apple introduced a similar feature called Motion Cues for iPhones, which also uses subtle on-screen movements to help reduce discomfort. Both aim to harmonise what your eyes see with what your body feels.
