Explained in plain English

How rare are state visits?

State visits are formal diplomatic events, usually hosted by the King or Queen, designed to strengthen international ties. They are carefully planned and often involve significant ceremony. The UK typically hosts only one or two such visits annually, making Zelensky's proposed 2027 trip a notable occasion.
