How does Tesla make money?

Tesla primarily makes money from selling electric vehicles, but also from energy storage products and solar panels. A significant part of its market valuation, however, comes from investor confidence in its future technological innovations, such as advanced battery tech and autonomous driving, rather than just current sales figures.
