How do missile defence systems work?

Missile defence systems, like those reportedly used by Jordan to intercept missiles, are designed to detect, track, and destroy incoming projectiles before they reach their targets. These systems use radar and other sensors to identify threats, then launch interceptor missiles to collide with and neutralise the incoming threat, protecting critical infrastructure and personnel from attack.
