Explained in plain English

How do F1 points work?

Points are awarded to the top ten finishers in each Grand Prix, with first place getting 25 points, down to 1 point for tenth. These points accumulate throughout the season for both the Drivers' Championship and the Constructors' Championship, determining the world champions. Hamilton's lost points affect both.
