How did a rocket hit the Moon?

An abandoned SpaceX Falcon rocket upper stage, after completing its primary mission, was left to drift in space. Instead of being guided back to Earth or into a disposal orbit, its trajectory eventually intersected with the Moon's path. This uncontrolled journey ended with a high-speed impact, creating the new crater seen by NASA.
