Astronaut back from space thinks we're "living a lie" about Earth

Ron Garan spent 178 days on the International Space Station in 2011 and realised Earth's atmosphere is incredibly thin and fragile. He believes humanity prioritises economic growth and borders over the planet's health, treating Earth's life support systems as a "subsidiary of the global economy." This experience is so common it's called "the Overview Effect" by author Frank White.
