Alleged 9/11 mastermind's trial set for June 2028

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, accused of planning the 9/11 attacks, will finally stand trial in June 2028, nearly 25 years after the events. A military judge set the date on Wednesday, rejecting prosecutors' request for an earlier 2027 start. A revoked plea deal last year would have seen Mohammed plead guilty to murdering 2,976 people in exchange for a life sentence.
