Yvette Cooper says NHS must prepare for annual summer heat pressures
Heatwaves now mean the NHS faces pressures usually only seen in winter flu season, according to Shadow Health Secretary Yvette Cooper. She says the government will invest in NHS infrastructure to improve resilience to high summer temperatures. The Climate Change Committee advised all hospitals need air conditioning within 10 years.
