YouTube eases rules on violence and drugs in gaming videos for creators
YouTube changed its monetisation rules for gaming content weeks before Grand Theft Auto VI's release on November 19, 2026. Videos with dismemberment, decapitation or lots of blood in the first seven seconds will lose ads, but violence after that may keep them. The platform also softened rules on showing illegal substances, meaning creators can publish GTA VI content with fewer restrictions.
