Yen gains 2% as Japan's central bank may raise rates

The Japanese yen gained over 2% against the dollar on Thursday, reaching its highest level in a month. The Bank of Japan's policymaker suggested the bank needs to act more "nimbly." Investors now believe there is a 77% chance of a rate hike at the upcoming meeting, scheduled to commence on 17 September.
