Specsavers pays £12m to its founders as profits reach £429.7m

The high street optician also shared nearly £258m with the independent partners who run its local branches. Total sales grew by 7% to reach £4.3bn in the year ending this February, as the brand absorbed rising wage and energy costs. Doug and Dame Mary Perkins founded the business in 1983, and the Sunday Times estimates their combined fortune at £1.4bn.
