Women with autoimmune conditions are far more likely than men to be told their symptoms are psychological, a Cambridge and UEA study of over 6,600 patients suggests. Women were 74% more likely to get a psychosomatic misdiagnosis and 46% more likely to get a psychiatric one. Most men were diagnosed within three months, while women commonly waited one to two years before finally getting answers.
