Williams sisters lose US Open doubles after blowing tie-break lead

Serena and Venus Williams, aged 44 and 46, lost their first US Open doubles match since 2022 on Friday night. Having been 4-1 behind in the third set, they recovered to establish a 5-0 advantage in the decisive 10-point tie-break. However, they double-faulted and lost 6-3, 6-7 (6), 7-6 (10-7) to Hao-Ching Chan and Maya Joint.
