Wild deer release millions of tonnes of methane annually

A new study reveals that wild ruminants, including deer, moose, and llamas, release about 3 million tonnes of methane into the atmosphere each year. More than half of this comes from just six species of deer. The total methane from wild animals is 38 times less than that from farm animals.
