What Ofsted's autism guidance change means for children
Ofsted withdrew advice for inspectors connecting autism with extremism, after a public outcry and celebrity campaigns. A junior education minister confirmed that updated training for inspectors no longer includes references to autistic children in relation to extremism. The change comes after concerns about autistic children being referred to the government's deradicalisation programme, Prevent.
