What does a record-dry July mean for reservoirs?
England's reservoirs now hold 72 percent of capacity, ten percentage points below the seasonal average, Sky News reports. Blagdon, Wimbleball and Hanningfield are rated exceptionally low, while the Wisley weather station in Surrey has recorded 45 consecutive days without rain. The dry spell began on 17 June, leaving England and Wales both on course for their driest July since records began.
